Samsø Cup
Samsø offers superb sea trout fishing, and with a coastline of approximately 120 kilometres of beautiful and fish-rich stretches, there is room for plenty of participants. With everything from fjords to magnificent open coasts around the entire island, it is never difficult to find a sheltered spot. There are great prizes for the winners.

Open by Night in Tranebjerg
The shops in the island’s capital, Tranebjerg, will be open late. There will be lots of extra-special offers, as well as music and festivities.

PEACE PLEASE.NU – A peace event in Brundby
Well-known Danish musicians and artists will gather in Brundby for Samsø’s first peace day. Experience a surprise concert at Brundby Rockhotel, art in the village, an art auction, a market and island community under the theme PEACEPLEASE.NU! A meaningful Pentecost celebration of hope, peace and art – to the delight of the heart, the mind and the world. The proceeds will go to children in war-torn areas through Save the Children.

Summer in the City (Sommer i By)
Every year, always on the Sunday after Pentecost, Summer in the City takes place. Beautifully decorated horses and riders ride through Nordby with banners and fauns. The riders are followed by a procession of horse-drawn carriages and costumed passengers. To mark the procession, there is a party and communal meal, music and fun in Nordby.

Samsø Festival Pro-Am by United Tickets
See some of Scandinavia’s best golfers when the Ecco Tour comes to Samsø. Walk around the beautiful golf course and see what these talented golfers can do. It’s a great experience – and completely free.

Samsø’s best potato sandwich
A number of the island’s restaurants are competing to make ‘Samsø’s best potato sandwich’. The audience can build their own potato sandwiches and have a nice chat with their neighbours. The judging panel consists of big names from the Danish food and restaurant industry.

Samsø Råvarefestival
Join in celebrating Samsø’s delicious specialities and raw ingredients with tastings, entertainment, market stalls, activities for the whole family and much more. On Saturday evening, there will be a big party and the Samsø Tug-of-War Championships.

Danish Mill Day
Danish Mill Day raises awareness of the country’s old windmills in order to increase understanding of the preservation of this part of our cultural heritage. On Samsø, you can visit Brundby Stubmølle and Kolby Mølle, which have a wonderful and festive programme for the occasion.

Stauns Sommersal
Lectures and debates on topics large and small. Takes place in beautiful surroundings, where the island is narrow, with a stable garden and high ceilings. This year’s theme is serenity. See the programme on the website.

Samsø Children’s Culture Festival
Children and families with children can enjoy and immerse themselves in music, entertainment, theatre, dance, literature, gymnastics, rhythm, play and movement in pleasant surroundings over several days.

Viking gathering at Samsø Museum
Combat training, Viking games, demonstrations of crafts and handicrafts. You can enjoy campfire food and mead and make your own flatbread.

If you like roaring machines, horsepower galore, smoke and noise, then Samsø Tractor Pull is for you. Samsø goes to the dogs
A whole weekend with man’s best friend in the leading role. The programme includes a rally obedience competition and, last but not least, the crowning of Samsø’s cutest dog. All two-legged friends have free admission to Samsø Sports Hall, and you don’t need to have a dog to come and watch.

14 October
Halloween run in the Samsø Maze
During the autumn holidays, the gates open to night-time adventures in the world’s largest maze. A very special experience awaits the brave, as they must find their way to the goal in complete darkness. Are you up for the challenge?
